Blind Trust…

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”  ~ Jeremiah 17:7-8

I love that this verse says “those who trust in the Lord…” It doesn’t say, “those who already know the answers.” It doesn’t say, “those who have it all figured out, or those who are financial stable…” Nope. It says “those who trust.” Sometimes I leave no room for trust or faith. But if you think of what trust is, it’s saying “I don’t know what is going on right now and I don’t have the answers, but I’ll follow you anyways.” We don’t have to feel confident in our circumstances. We don’t have to feel good, or safe, or secure…all we have to do is trust.

Trust doesn’t have to be based on emotion, circumstance, confidence level, financial state, or intellect.

Trust is blind. It’s says to God “regardless of everything around me, you lead and I’ll follow. You are God and I am not.
